The finalists for the 2015 Australian In-house Lawyer Awards have been announced today and demonstrate the increasing influence of globalisation on the profession.

With a record number of nominations received this year, a common theme among many of the finalists is the high level of global engagement within their daily duties and management.

Many legal departments operating in Australia are now responsible for multiple-jurisdictions, with some award finalists (in both the categories for individual and team awards) managing the Asia-Pacific region, the Middle East, Europe and beyond.

ACC Australia President Adrian Goss says it’s an exciting time for the Australian in-house legal profession, with many responding to the opportunities and challenges presented by the regional and international arena.

“It’s wonderful to see so many of the finalists, recognised for their excellence in the provision of legal services, thriving in a global environment,” said Mr Goss.

“Whether in government or corporate legal departments, each finalist has made a significant contribution to the profession and demonstrated excellence in an area of the legal profession that is constantly evolving.”

The winners will be announced at the Annual Awards Gala Dinner on 12 November at the Sheraton Mirage on the Gold Coast.
